Hornby Recreation is a committee of the Hornby Island Residents' and Rate Payers' Association that promotes a healthy way of life in which physical activity is valued and integrated into our everyday life. This summer we have co-ordinated a wide variety of recreation programs for your fitness and enjoyment.
Come out for Laughteryoga, Soccer, Poi Tastik, Hula Hoopla, or any of the other programs going on all summer long. There are different programs happening every week so print off a program listing to see what you might like to come to!

Hornby Island Diving
Hornby Island Diving provides scuba diving charters from Ford Cove on Hornby Island. Our guest lodge, dive boat and tank fill station were built by divers for divers, so you can enjoy our wonderful diving in comfort. We are open all year. In any season you can encounter Giant Pacific octopus, wolf eels, harbour seals, Puget Sound king crabs and an abundance of colourful reef creatures. Seasonal visitors include sea lions and sixgill sharks.
We are a family business that has been owner operated for over 30 years. Your hosts are Rob Zielinski and Amanda Heath. Our knowledge and experience means you get safe, fun dives at the best sites.

Hornby Ocean Kayaks

Ocean Kayaks is located on Hornby Island, which is one of the spectacular
and protected northern Gulf Islands on the west coast of Canada. Hornby
Island is situated in the calm protected waters of Georgia Strait between
the mainland and Vancouver Island, an excellent place to experience Ocean
Kayaking!
Depending on the time of year, you will see eagles, seals, sea lions, whales, interesting intertidal life and diverse bird species. We have been introducing people to ocean kayaking since 1986, and have been involved as professional wilderness guides since 1976. Our customers return from paddling relaxed, refreshed and rejuvenated.
We would be happy to share our knowledge of Hornby Island. We paddle year round and encourage you to try ocean kayaking with us at any time of the year.

Hornby Island Outdoor Sports

Hornby from the comfort of a bike. There are lots of great trails on the
mountain (we're famous for them!) to explore by bike. The riding is for
all skill levels. We have everything from North Shore style sickness (well,
a couple of trails anyways) to smooth double track and everything in between.
We also have a well developed trail system that follows the road to most destinations. A few years ago some forward thinking locals decided that commuters and kids needed a way to ride places without being right on the road. They've been working hard since then to make a trail system that follows the road and gets you safely to your destinations.
The rentals are available during peak season by coming into the shop. In the off season please call the shop to make arrangements.
