We arrived on Hornby 34 and 20 years ago respectively, being drawn by the
inherent beauty and potential peacefulness of the Island. Welcoming the
opportunity to live a simpler outdoor-oriented lifestyle in a creative,
friendly and cooperative community and to enjoy the many natural features
and recreational opportunities the Island offers, we both eagerly joined
in to help "preserve and protect" our beloved island and the "spirit"
of it, as we knew it then. In those days it seemed most of the community
tried to make as small a footprint on the Island as possible (and many,
many still do...)
