Deerheart Sanctuary
Silent Meditation Retreat
May 23rd - 26th
The purpose of meditation is to find the meditator. When you look for the
meditator you won't find him, her, or it. All you will find is Silent
Emptiness. In finding Emptiness the mind stops. When you allow Emptiness to
stop your mind, you'll awaken and realize that you are that Emptiness. You'll
realize that you are not the mind, or the body or any meditative phenomenon.
You are Emptiness. Emptiness means limitless, boundless, Pure consciousness.
Adyashanti
These retreats are rare opportunities to turn inward in an environment where the space is being held for deep inquiry into the absolute truth of your being. Silence is the container for the journey. This is an invitation to sit with the simple and yet profound question: Who Am I?
For information, see www.deerheartsanctuary.com or call at 250-335-0952.

Live at the Thatch - Friday Night Jazz
Perched above the shore with the ocean lapping at its feet, the Thatch pub is the first sight to greet islanders and visitors as they arrive on Hornby Island. Every Friday evening at 7:00 pm, Annie Siegel (piano, vocals) comes over from Denman Island to join Dana Inglis (bass), Darryl Bohn (drums), Tony Wilson (guitar) and Nick McGowan (tenor saxophone) at the Thatch to make wonderful music. Friday Night Jazz at the Thatch has been a fixture on the Hornby calendar since 1990 and is not to be missed!
