Tara Ireland

Tara first landed on Hornby in the mid 1970's and regularly visited until taking the plunge and moving here full time a couple of years ago. She also started her artistic explorations in the mid 1970's, studying printmaking and painting at art school while also being involved in the inception of the Malaspina Printmakers Society. After many years of working as a scenic artist on major films she has decided to commit herself to rediscovering her creative energies through both the mediums of oil and watercolour painting.

Happy childhood memories of time spent on Gabriola Island has contributed to a life reflecting on the infinite moods of light playing on water. She is overjoyed at being on Hornby year round so that she can visit the beach daily.

Tara is a regular at the Farmers Market with her watercolours and she will also be showing at the Hornby Hall summer 2011. Tara also opens her home studio to visitors, located at 3770 Slade Road - watch for her sign at the corner of Slade and Central Roads.
