Tara Ireland

Tara first landed on Hornby in the mid 1970Ís and regularly visited until taking the plunge and moving here full time this past winter. She also started her artistic explorations in the mid 1970Ís, studying printmaking and painting at art school while also being involved in the inception of the Malaspina Printmakers Society. After many years of working as a scenic artist on major films she has decided to commit herself to rediscovering her creative energies through both the mediums of oil and watercolour painting.

Happy childhood memories of time spent on Gabriola Island has contributed to a life reflecting on the infinite moods of light playing on water. She is looking forward to being on Hornby year round so that she can visit the beach daily.

You can find TaraÍs oil paintings at the Island Gallery and she plans to be a regular at the Farmers Market with her watercolours.

Tara will be teaching watercolour classes every Monday and Tuesday throughout the summer and is happy to welcome both beginners and those wishing to expand upon already developed skill. Please feel free to contact her at the above number or email address.
