Hornby Island Artists
Lynne Carmichael
Coupling bold crisp lines with quick bursts of fluid colour, Lynne’s work reflects an intimate relationship with nature. The setting and temperament of Hornby influences her current work, which is the result of a confident and long practiced vision. Her paintings of animals and birds indicate her enjoyment of the openness and simplicity to be found in a country lifestyle. Her large florals, with their shortened focal length, invite the viewer to share a personal perspective. Lynne has exhibited across Canada, in England and is in the collection of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, DC.
Lynne’s work can be found at The Island Gallery and Arbutus Arts.
