Hornby Island Artists
Louise O. Jarvis
Louise was first inspired to make jewellery when visiting Hornby in 1975. She returned after twenty-five years in Ontario, where she honed her craft and taught classes in her home studio. Louise utilizes silver, gold and semi-precious stones to celebrate the natural world with designs inspired by water, dance and natural forms. Her jewellery is alive with movement and joy. Louise’s love for music has motivated her involvement in the Hornby community by teaching piano, co-directing the Community Choir, and starting the Peace Singers.
Louise is currently spending the winter in Ontario and will be back on Hornby Island in May.
Louise’s work can be found on Hornby Island at The Island Gallery, Farmer and Artisan Markets and Gecko Design.
Off-island at the Gallery Athena, Nova Scotia; and The Harbinger Gallery , Ontario
