Hornby Island Artists
Jennifer has always been drawn to photographs to how still, captured moments speak volumes about the people and places they hold.
Nearly 10 years ago, jennifer was fortunate to receive a government grant to study photography. Even before graduating, she began shooting professionally, and has been specializing in weddings, portraits and artists' promotional materials ever since. Her approach is candid, celebratory and fun, capturing the feeling and essence of the moment in a clear, modern style. Jennifer loves her job and it shows. Her relaxed nature puts people at ease, and that feeling shines forth in the photographs. Born into a family of artists, jennifer has an eye and appreciation for the detail and complexities of fine art and craft documentation. When she takes time away from her commercial work, she can often be found seeking subjects for fine art prints.
In 2004, jennifer returned to Hornby Island, to develop her life and photography business here. She finds limitless inspiration for her work on Hornby; it is inspiring to be living in this beautiful environment, within such a creative community. Jennifer delights in having a profession that connects her so deeply with the world around her and with those who come here to celebrate. Jennifer has contributed many stunning photos to the Hornby Island Art Guide which are represented throughout the artist bios on this website.
Jennifer loves that cameras are so portable! Photography offers her a wonderful opportunity to travel, capturing places and peoples' special moments wherever they live and celebrate.
"One Day on Hornby" is a photograhpy promotional package developed by jennifer to capture the memories, while you create the magic! Click here for more information.
When not working with photographs, jennifer can be found teaching yoga at the Green Door Studio (in the off-season) and at the meadow above Sandpiper Beach in July & August.
